About

The purpose of the Toronto Meditation Guide is to provide a central, nonsectarian place to learn more about the Toronto meditation community. The site was officially launched in September of 2006 by Greg Mount, a Toronto area Buddhist and meditation practitioner since 1993.

Toronto has a thriving meditation community, representing a multitude of diverse cultures and traditions. We bring that diversity together in one place to keep you up on what’s happening in the community and help you find the right place to cultivate your personal meditation practice.

Finding the right teacher and environment is an important first step in establishing a healthy and effective meditation practice. On this site you will find profiles of local meditation centres, which feature contact and background information, location maps, pictures and video. We also track current news and events from the local meditation community, such as upcoming retreats, classes and visiting speakers.

Want to get involved? You can create a profile or post an event for your meditation group directly from the site. There’s also a comment form at the end of each profile and event listing where you can ask questions and share your experiences.

The Toronto Meditation Guide is made possible through the talent and generosity of a number of people, for which we are humbly grateful. We hope this site will be a useful stop on your meditative journey and would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us with any comments or questions about the site.
