This 4-day Loving-Kindness (Metta) Meditation Retreat, sponsored by Spring Rain Sangha, takes place from Oct. 14 - 18th, in Batavia, NY, at the Chapin Mill Retreat Centre. This retreat introduce practices that help us become more loving individuals. By gently re-orienting the heart and mind to focus on the positive energies of loving-kindness and well-being, the practice of metta helps to gradually open our hearts to unconditional love for all beings, including ourselves.

This program has been developed to introduce the practice to those with little or no experience in a format that is instructive and interactive. The practice is learned through discussion and practice. The benefits of meditation are explored and every participant is encouraged to find their appropriate level of engagement to ensure the experience is positive, productive and supportive.

The class runs for 4 weeks from 6:30pm to 8:00pm starting Friday October 15, 2010.

Intro Meditation Course with Buddhist Monk: Geshe Lodoe

Four Thursdays: October 28th, November 4, 11, 18 (6:30-8:00pm)

Meditation is becoming a common practice for relaxation, focus, clarity and well-being. In the 2,500 year old Buddhist tradition, meditation is a central tool for awakening and eliminating suffering. This course is an excellent introduction to the basics of meditation - posture, breath, and awareness training, supported by authentic teachings.

Tibetan Bön Ngondro Retreat
