The purpose of the Toronto Shin Buddhist Dojo is to spread the teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism (Japanese Pure Land Buddhism). The Toronto Shin Buddhist Dojo was founded on September 20, 2005 by Doreen Hamilton Sensei.

Biography
Doreen Hamilton was a public health nurse, specializing in parent education; ordained in Jodo Shinshu Buddhism in 1988 in Kyoto, Japan.
